Rick Smith, owner of The Pruning Guru, is a certified Georgia Nurseryman and a Georgia Certified Landscape Professional, both through UGA. He also has a Pesticide License and he has over 15 years experience in specialized landscaping with Georgia's largest apartment association, Post Properties. Rick also has been associated in the landscape industry for 38 years.

Georgia's Urban AG Council is Georgia's premier organization for all sectors of the urban agriculture industry, and was formed by the merger of the Metro Atlanta Landscape and Turf Association (MALTA), the Georgia Turfgrass Association (GTA) and the Georgia Sod Producers Association (GSPA) . UAC promotes professionalism, adherence to industry standards and education and serves as a consumer and industry resource for residential and commercial clients. UAC works with the University of Georgia, Georgia's Cooperative Extension Service, and horticulture educators throughout the state.
